Golf Training Overview
Golf training is all about poise, stance, and concentration. Since golf is very much a mental game about subtlety and having all elements of the game line up perfectly, it has become a sport that tends to weed out the impatient. Patience is a necessity in golf, and one must put up with a lot more instruction than for the average sport. Most other sports are pretty simple and “easy to get” with some practice.
The main points to remember in golf training are:
- Keep your head down until you’ve completed a follow through
- Keep your knees bent
- Make a direct line to the pin/green with your feet
- Swivel the hips, don’t sway them
Golf requires a lifetime of paying attention. Everything must be in alignment: head down, shoulders squared, knees bent, club placement, feet apart at the right distance, back swing measured easy, so as not to through you off balance, strong follow through, hands turning over, etc. These are the golf training basics.
