Playing golf at full price quickly gets expensive and makes the spouse somewhat disgruntled. Investing in a golf discount book quickly pays for itself if you play just a few rounds or more a year. Gold discount books are available both nationally and regionally. Unless you travel around the country and have time to play, the best value will normally be a regional book. The West Coast Golf Value Book is an example of an excellent regional resource. Discounts are offered in a number of states, so the appeal is broad enough to negotiate deals with local golf courses. At the same time, just using the discounts for the courses in a given area pays for the entire book and saves you a ton of money. Next time you play, take a little extra time to search out a good discount book and play for a lot less!

A while back I made some changes in my swing based on a little book by Ben Hogan. Hogan usually worked the ball right to left, which appealed to me because of my normal tendency to push the ball. Problem was, once I made the changes, I couldn’t stop hooking my golf shots. Using Hogan’s method, my swing plane had become too flat, essentially causing me to hit “around” the ball. Even when I tried to straighten up, I kept laying the club off at the top and coming through flat anyway. Ultimately, I had to quit playing for three months so that my muscles were able to forget Hogan’s method enough for me to stop hooking my golf shots.

If you are interested in playing golf but don’t know where to start, you might want to consider getting yourself a golf instruction book. Using such a book is a great way to learn the ropes and to both establish and improve your technique. Even if you already play golf but would like to better your skills, an instruction book certainly would not hurt. It might even be one of the best decisions you make regarding your game playing. A good day out on the course doesn’t always mean success, but it sure feels good when you walk off with a nice low score, and a golf instruction book is sure to help you accomplish this.

Up until recently, the golf books I read were primarily instructional in nature. Other than that, I had read a handful of biographies. While out shopping last month, my wife ran across a used bookshop having a going out of business sale. She found two large cartons of old golf books for one dollar each and purchased them. She figured that even if I didn’t want them, it was only two dollars. One of the boxes was filled with nothing but one golf course book after another. These books were old and a bit outdated. However, the first golf course book I read was far more fascinating than I expected. I haven’t read them all yet, but I plan to get around to it eventually.

Some of us want to have nice clubs, play good golf balls, and see some nice courses without breaking the bank. If you fall into this category, then you might want to find a golf discount book to help you with some deals. If you are looking to make a big purchase like a new set of irons, then a golf discount book can show you where the good deals are.

Additionally, a golf discount book will help you find nice rates on solid courses in your area. This is especially true for people who live in areas with lots of great options. People who go to spots like Myrtle Beach, South Carolina understand what this is all about, as they can use those books to golf on the cheap.

Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned golfer, “Little Red Book,” by Harvey Penick (the world’s oldest caddie) is a must read. His no-nonsense approach to this game that can never be mastered, but fully enjoyed with the right attitude and instruction, shines in his first book in a series of books on golf and life.

“Little Red Book” is a compilation of Mr. Penick’s life as a caddy and notekeeping for 60+ years on lessons he learned and taught to some of golf’s greatest players. Named for the red notebook he kept, it features simple, direct advice and insightful wisdom centered on this mystical game.

Mr. Penick makes no distinction between a beginner or a top touring pro like Tom Kite. His teachings apply to us all who love this illusive game of golf. If you want to truly learn about golf (and life), start with the “Little Red Book.”

If you were to ask me to do a golf book review on the best golf book in the world, I’d have a hard time picking just one. The great thing about golf and the golf book industry is that there are quite a few authors who have chosen to write about the sport. These people are great at what they do, and they make it so that a golf book review of the world’s best would be almost impossible.

The truth is that I love all of these books. From the ones about courses to the books about my favorites players. Whether it is reading something by Tiger Woods or reading a fictional book about a match played with good, I am a sucker for a great golf book. With that in mind, a golf book review of the one book that stands on top is something that I just can’t provide, because it wouldn’t do the rest of the books justice.

There are many golf books on the market, so finding the best golf books can be difficult. Golf instruction, golfer biographies, golf courses and golf history are some of the many topics in books about golf. Whether you want to brush up on your game or learn about a particular golf course, there are plenty of great books to choose from.

One of the best contemporary golf books is Tiger Woods’ “How I Play Golf.” Tiger keeps the golfer’s attention on the fundamentals, and it’s a wealth of information from a golfing legend. Looking at an older, but still one of the best golf books is Harvey Penick”s “Little Red Book: Lessons and Teachings from a Lifetime in Golf.” This book is a must for any beginner golfer. Also check out Ben Hogan’s 5 Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf for one of the truly best golf books.
