My favorite golf instruction tip concerns proper technique for the fade. If our normal grip is a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10, we want to grip it at level 8. Aim at the target with the club, and then aim the body left of that target. Your posture should be far more upright than in your normal swing, and after hitting the ball, try to hold the clubface open. My second favorite golf instruction tip improves technique of the draw. First, allow for lighter grip pressure, a 2 on the scale mentioned above. Then, after aligning the club at the target, aim your body right of the target. On the backswing, swing your club around the body, and feel the toe down much more than normal.

There’s a local place that just opened up offering women’s golf instruction, and I’ve been urging my wife to give it a try. She started playing after we were married, and I would definitely describe her as an inexperienced golfer. I think she could really benefit from a little bit of professional instruction, and she agrees with me. She set up an appointment at the women’s golf instruction school, and she’s very excited to see how everything works out. I think she’ll improve pretty quickly because she has a lot of overall talent, and all she needs is a bit of refinement. A couple of lessons should teach her some strong fundamentals, and then I think she’ll quickly become quite competent on the green.
