When it comes to generating power, most golf driving tips focus on what the pros do to achieve it. However, what the golf driving tips should be doing is focusing on what the novices are doing to lose it. Each incorrect technique or unnecessary motion translates into wasted energy, and that wasted energy results in diminished power. Consider the following golf driving tips.

Novices love to bury their tees, and due to today’s larger club heads, that causes power-diminishing friction. The other issue with novices is that with so much focus on hand-on-club positioning, they tend to overlook the fact that the hands are too far in at the body. This causes the arms to be under-extended, and therefore, unable to generate as much power as is possible. Lastly, novices tend to rock or hop their back foot, which saps a great deal of power out of the swing.

The full golf swing is comprised of three core components: the backswing, the downswing, and the follow-through. Some golfers also refer to the backswing as the takeaway. Once the novice has mastered the three core components of the full golf swing, they can be broken down further for finer adjustment. The backswing occurs first, and this is when the golfer brings the club away from the tee and above the head. The downswing occurs from above the head to the point where the clubface makes contact with the ball. The follow-through occurs when the club continues through the ball and comes to rest over the golfer’s shoulder. Novices often undervalue the follow-through component of the full golf swing because it seems to happen after the ball is in flight. In actuality, the intention to achieve a particular follow-through is what controls the ball’s flight.

One of the most important golf swing tips that you can learn is to remain in balance throughout the swing. By keeping perfectly balanced, you can increase your chances of hitting the ball crisply, accurately, and with great power, helping you to score better.

The key to staying in balance is to have your weight distributed correctly across your feet. You do not want to have too much weight on the balls of your feet since during the swing, you may fall forward. Next, you do not want to have too much weight on the heels of your feet, which would cause you to fall backwards in the swing. Instead, distribute your weight equally between the feet, centering your mass in the middle of the balls of your feet and your heels.

Golf is a very mental game, and the proper mindset is key to playing your best. Here are some simple yet effective tips to assist with the game’s mental aspects.

1. Focus fully on the current shot. While this seems obvious, too often we are replaying the last shot or anticipating the next one. This is counterproductive and will limit your ability to properly execute the shot at hand.

2. Choose your shot and commit to it fully. When you begin your swing you should not be thinking of other options you could have chosen.

3. Banish negative thoughts. Try not to think about the water hazard to the left, or the deep bunker short of the green. Trust your swing and envision the shot being executed exactly as you planned.

Many golfers who are serious about improving will at one point or another go for a private golf lesson.

It could be because the Club Championship is coming up, or it could be because you just lost $100 to your playing partners, but either way, you are looking for some improvement in your golf game.

A private golf lesson will help the Pro evaluate the strengths and weakness of your swing. Going to the same coach each time will allow him or her to get to know you and be able to gauge your improvement.

Often times, the correction required may be as simple as not having your weight back on your heels enough or taking the club away on the wrong plane. You find the answer at a private golf lesson.

Sometimes, it just pays to let a young golfer swing the way he wants to. Let him take a natural swing until he gets a little older and can comprehend some of the reasoning behind the so called “proper” swing. A natural swing involves the body’s natural rhythm. You should not have to worry if your elbow is tucked in at just the right angle or if your feet are too far apart. The looser you are, the better off you will be. With a natural golf swing, your body will turn as far as it wants to on the back swing and follow through in a smooth arc before striking the ball. Sometimes, too much instruction will only confuse a golfer. Let them relax and just take a nice, natural swing.

An important golf swing lesson that you need to learn has more to do with theory than actual mechanics. The direction that the golf ball comes off the face of the club depends on the angle of the club head face at impact. If the face is open, the ball will start to the right and slice farther right. If the club face is closed, the ball will start left and tend to turn further left. If you’ve taken the proper grip, you should realize that your right hand mirrors the angle of the club face throughout the swing. It’s far easier to see what your right hand is doing than the club face, so you can use this information to help to figure out what is causing your bad shots.

What if you could just bottle those skills and pull them out on the first tee. Though there is no magic bullet to make this easy. you can take steps toward success with one-on-one golf instruction. Teaching pros help figure out what you are doing right and what you are doing wrong on each swing. Often times. it just takes a little bit of outside perspective to improve your game. With one-on-one golf instruction. you get to listen to an expert who can pinpoint exactly where your swing goes wrong. Chances are that you are just missing something small. and that your game could benefit from a quick fix.

Tiger Wood’s golf swing plane has been the subject of a lot of analysis in recent months since his return to golf. One of the main problems with his swing is the golf swing plane.

Put simply, Tiger’s golf swing plane on the downswing is too steep which causes him to have to time his release perfectly to hit the ball straight. One way Tiger and amateur golfers that have the same problem can fix their swing is to flatten it out on the downswing to hit the ball more from the inside. The best way to do this is to think about baseball. Pretend you are hitting a baseball and want to send it to right field. To do this, you have to hit the ball from the inside.

Female golfers are in luck, as many of today’s top teaching pros are specializing in women’s golf instruction. With the technology and research being done today, it easy to see that the male and female swing are very different. With that in mind, it is no longer smart to go to a general pro that has no experience working with ladies.

So how is this women’s golf instruction different? It focuses more on accuracy and on shot shaping. Women, for the most part, are not able to produce the same level of clubhead speed as their male counterparts. When coupled with the shorter courses that they play, it is clear that women’s golf instruction needs to zone in on putting the ball in the right places. Good teaching pros can help women make this happen.
